Welcome to Nursery Class

Miss Mansell, Ms Clarke and Miss Everard

Welcome to the Nursery page! We feel privileged to be sharing your child’s first year of school. This is a time for new beginnings, making friends, and learning lots of new and exciting things each and every day. Our days will be filled with lots of wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. We aim to work with you to ensure the best outcomes for your child, building upon all the good work you have already done with your child during their early years.

Welcome Poem

(author unknown)

Welcome, welcome, I'm glad you're here,

We're going to have a wonderful year,

We'll draw and we'll write,

We'll sing and we'll play,

and we'll learn new things each and every day.

There's lots to learn and fun things to do,

It should be awesome for a great kid like YOU.

Snow Day Activities 6/1/2026

  • Go outside and explore the snow, take a look at the changes: how do the trees look? Can you see any leaves?
  • Build a snowman! Build a snowman taller than you and one shorter than you.
  • Add a different number of buttons. Which snowman has more / fewer buttons?
  • Can you dress your snowman in the correct winter clothes? Do they need a scarf, a hat, or gloves?
  • Make 10 snow balls. If you throw one, how many are left? What is one less than 10? Continue until all have been thrown, saying the number that is one less each time.
  • Write in the snow - your name, draw pictures (any mark making)
  • Make a snowy day picture to take into school
  • Share a book and sing nursery rhymes
