Starry Night, Sparkle and Shine

In this exciting topic we will look at the difference between night and day, people who work at night and nocturnal animals. We will also be learning about the Solar System and characteristics of the different planets. We will write our own non fiction space books and learn about what it is like to be an astronaut. We will learn about Neil Armstrong, a significant person from History and why he was famous. It proves to be a very exciting topic.

We have really enjoyed this topic, especially learning about Space. We have enjoyed finding out about different nocturnal animals and what makes them able to hunt for their food at night time. We have also learned about people who work when we are asleep. We have been thinking about how important it is to get a good night's sleep and what helps us to sleep well. We have been learning about how to prepare for bed and the routines we follow. We carried out an exciting investigation into which drink was best for our teeth. We found out that drink milk or water was good for our teeth but sugary juices and fizzy pop made cavities in our teeth. We have these as a treat. We enjoyed finding out about Neil Armstrong and his famous quote, 'One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.'
