Hi Everyone,

Another week has flown by and I am missing my lovely Year 1s more than EVER! I hope you are all still being really safe, staying really positive, and still smiling! Please enjoy spending this time with those around you, and take time to rest, as this is such a tough time for everyone right now.

Below is the work that I would like the children to complete this week. As usual, there are activities for reading, writing, maths, phonics, and some for your afternoon topic sessions. You will notice that Phonics is slightly different this week- see below for more information. If you received a text last week to say that your child should complete the orange group work for maths and English, then the same applies this week. Remember to continue to read as much as possible! It has been lovely to see so many of you consistently accessing the Epic reading app. I hope that the lovely weather continues and that we can all continue to get outside if we are lucky enough to have outdoor space.

Remember to take breaks and to remain positive, we should all be so proud of ourselves for adapting to this situation in the amazing way that we have. I hope the children are still their amazing, cheerful selves, and that they are creating lots of memories to tell us all about when we return to the classroom.

For now, stay safe and look after each other :)

BIG hugs!

Miss Woodward

Phonics

For Phonics this week, I would like the children to access lessons 1-5 of the Letters and Sounds Youtube video lessons. There are new lessons uploaded daily, but I advise that you start from the first lesson. They are wonderful and follow the order of phonemes that would be taught during the summer term.

Please start from Lesson 1 and use the following link to access

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ly-lUhLnxw&list=PLuGr6z2H2KNGObda6B-T36vJlZYN06lOh&index=2

Please bare in mind that all of the children are at different stages in their phonic abilities, and if your child finds this first lesson too difficult, try beginning with the Reception lessons. These are a useful recap of sounds that will have already been taught. As always, if you have any questions or issues accessing this, please contact me via the Office email!
