Hello Year 1!

I hope that you have all had a fun week. We saw some interesting weather this week in the form of thunder AND lightning. Miss Woodward got caught in a HUGE storm on a long walk and got soaking wet :(

I have loved seeing some photos and videos of you all this week, and they have really made me smile while I have been supporting your learning from home. Please keep me updated on all of your wonderful activities, whatever they may be! It is lovely to see you all, and you are all looking SO grown up (almost ready for Year 2...). Please continue to send messages, photos, videos to office@goldenhillprimary.org.uk and they will get forwarded on for me to see!

I hope you are all showing good resillience and continuing to work hard for whoever is helping you learn at home. At times it may be tricky and you may not feel like it, but keep going! I am ever so proud of you, as are all of the Year 1 team, and I know you can ALL do amazing things.

As always, this week there are a range of activities for you to have a go at below. I've found a really really useful Capital Letters and Full stops booklet which may help those of you who might be forgetting to use these in all of your sentences. See if you can try your best to remember, to make all of your sentences super. Remember also that there are so many online resources which are AMAZING such as:

Oak National Academy.

Topmarks (Maths Games)

Phonics Play and Phonics Bloom (Phonics)

TT Rockstars.

I have also this week told a few of your parents about a great online resource called Phonics Family. They have a great website https://phonicsfamilycom.wordpress.com/ but also a Facebook page and an Instagram page. There are some great ideas for simple phonics games which can be made from things you might have lying around the house. It makes phonics super fun, and you might like to try these to mix it up a bit!

I am missing you all very very much, and I hope you are all remaining safe and positive.

Our next Zoom Call will be on Friday 26th June- and for this one, I would like you to bring something from your home that you LOVE- it might be your favourite toy, or something special, it's up to you :)
