Movers and Shakers

Our new project for the Summer Term is Movers and Shakers. This project teaches children about historically significant people who have had a major impact on the world. They will learn to use timelines, stories and historical sources to find out about the people featured and use historical models to explore their significance.

We will categorise these significant people and we will be studying the likes of Captain James Cook, Christopher Columbus, Emmeline Pankhurst, Florence Nightingale, Martin Luther King Jr, Mary Anning, Neil Armstrong,  Queen Victoria, Roald Amundsen, Rosa Parks and Vincent Van Gogh.

Through Geography we will be looking at landmarks from around the world that look at remembering significant people and the impact they have had. Children will also be having a go at designing and creating their own statue.

Take a look at our topic web to see what else we are covering this term! We are always busy in Year 2 and we love to learn.
