Freestyle Football Workshops

On Friday 12th April, Freestyle Footballer and Guinness World Record holder Ash Randall visited the school to deliver inspiring lessons and a football skills workshop to the children. The children had a great time showing and learning lots of new skills. Some teachers even got involved too! 

Sports for Schools Fundraiser

On 24th November, we all had such a fun afternoon taking part in the fitness challenge with canoeist Emily Lewis. A huge well done to everyone! We raised lots of money for new sports equipment! 

Sports Day June 2022

 

On Wednesday 29th June 2022, Goldenhill hosted their annual Sports Day event! This year the event was led by BeeActive and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of sporting events. We had sprint race, egg and spoon, hurdles, bean bag retrieval and sack race. Thank you for all of our parents/grandparents who came along to cheer the children on. We certainly had a fantastic day and the weather was kind to us until the very last race!

Northwood Athletics - June 2022

 

On Friday 10th June 2022, selected children from KS2 went to Northwood Stadium to represent the academy at the annual Tunstall PSSA Track and Field Finals. The children had an amazing day and they represented the academy wonderfully! They enjoyed showing off their sporting skills and cheering each other on. They completed different races - hurdles, skipping, sack, javelin, long jump, sprint and long distance. We even had some winners - check out the photos below! 

Societas Commonwealth Games - July 2022

 

On Friday 1st July 2022, selected children from Y6 took part in the 'Societas Commonwealth Games 2022.' The schools within the Societas Trust, in partnership with Stoke City Football Club, came together to create the Societas Commonwealth Games 2022, taking inspiration from the 2022 Commonwealth Games. 

Children from each school came together with the theme of ‘Being Connected’ in an exciting event  held at the Stoke City Dome, next to Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium. The children took part in a number of sporting activities linked to Commonwealth events including Badminton, Athletics, Archery, Netball, Hockey, Rugby and Cricket. The children had a wonderful day and represented the academy amazingly! Check out the photos below!

Bee Active Days!

 

Throughout the year we have various 'Bee Active Days'. The children really enjoy these days as a chance to showcase their sporting skills  and have lots of FUN!!

 

As part of our celebrations for the Queen's Jubilee, the children took part in a 'Dance through the Ages' workshop, where each class took on the challenge of learning a different dance routine from a different era! We had Girl Power, Hip Hop, 70's Disco. 60s theme and Jive/Landy theme! The chidlren had so much fun and we certainly have some dancers in the making!! 

 

On Friday 24th June, we had a whole school 'Fitness Day' where each class took part in some really challenging 'Circuit training!' This really challeneged the children and certainly tested their fitness levels - we were exhausted at the end!
