Goldenhill Kids Club

Goldenhill Care Club is our before and after school club which operates in term time only. All staff hold current DBS certificates as well as first aid and safeguarding training.

Our Care Club opened in April 2006. It is situated within the school hall and we offer a variety of activities for the children who attend the club.  These include table tennis, pool, basketball, ipads, creative activities, role-play, construction, board games, gardening, cooking, sewing and many more.

The club is run by qualified experienced staff who are:

Kirsty Evans (Manager)

The staff are available to answer any questions or queries and parents/carers are encouraged to call into kids club and look around.

Does your child attend before or after school club?  Did you know that we can accept payments via the HMRC Tax-Free Childcare scheme?  For eligible families this could give a valuable saving of 20% of the cost.

The scheme offers up to £500 every 3 months (£2,000 a year) per child to help with the cost of childcare.  This is increased to £4,000 per year if a child is disabled.  For those with younger children the scheme is also accepted by many nurseries and childminders.

You set up an online account with HMRC and then for every £8 you pay in, the government will add an additional £2.   You then simply select Goldenhill Primary Academy from the list of registered providers and send the funds on to school.  The office will allocate your funds to your child’s ParentPay account so that you can book your sessions as usual – just drop a quick email to office@goldenhillprimary.org.uk to let us know the amount to expect and the payment reference HMRC provide.

To qualify, you (and your partner, if you have one) must be in work and over the next 3 months each expect to earn an average amount equal to at least 16 hours per week at the National Minimum or Living Wage.  Your ‘adjusted net income’ must also be under £100,000 per year.  There are some exceptions to the income rules – for example if you are newly self-employed or one parent is in receipt of certain benefits.  The full terms and conditions of the scheme are available at Tax-Free Childcare - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) and we would advise that you check these thoroughly to ensure you are entitled to use the scheme.  You cannot get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as claiming Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers but there is a childcare calculator on the HMRC website which can help you decide which type of support will work out best for you.
