In Year 6 we are eager to learn; have the desire to improve; and strive creatively to achieve our best every day.
Year 6’s class ethos encapsulates the children’s desire to leave Goldenhill Primary Academy being the very best version of themselves. As a class, we are beginning the final phase of that journey. A journey which will be fun, challenging and provide an abundance of special memories for the rest of their lives. We aim to achieve our shared goals and maximize individual potential in a collective way!
Year 6 is a year unrivalled by any other; and has the unique position being the pinnacle of Primary School life and allows the children the opportunity to showcase the skills and talents that they have been developing throughout their school life. The exciting and challenging curriculum in Year 6 is driven by the children, allowing them to take full ownership of their learning. This independence will provide the children with the perfect stepping stone to secondary school life. This curriculum gives pupils access to a variety of different experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. These experiences have also been proven to both inspire and engage; while allowing pupils to develop both socially, emotionally and educationally as young children. A highlight of the year is definitely going on our residential field trip to Stanley Head OEC, in Staffordshire. Another significant event that happens is the Year 6 Production. In the last few years, we have produced: Grease, Carterella Rockerfella, Pirates of the Curry Bean and Aladdin Trouble, all of which have been highly entertaining for all the children and adults alike! The Year 6 class is an exciting, inspiring place to be creating captivating memories that will remain with the children for the rest of the lives.
Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who support our children! We could not do it without you and your amazing children!
