Towers, Tunnels and Turrets

Towers, Tunnels and Turrets

This Autumn Year 2 will be looking at Towers, Tunnels and Turrets. Children will be submerged into what life was like in a castle and what types of people used to and still do live in castles. The children will be looking at towers and bridges from around the world and the changes these have faced over the years. In Year 2 we will also look at The Great Escape and how tunnels were used to help people escape from prison. Children will be researching whether we think this was the right thing to do.

We will be going to the cinema on Friday 8th November to watch 'The Kid Who Would Be King' not only will this link with our topic but it will also be part of a UK film festival.

We went to the cinema to watch a remake of Arthur and the Stone. It made us think about what our new topic could be and how Kings have treasured items to look after.

As a class, we had a super morning!

Castles- DIY!

We looked at castles throughout the ages and decided on our favourite features. We then selected appropriate materials to make a design with and then got our creative hats on and built a castle. Take a look at some of our fabulus creations!
