Starry Night
Starry Night, Sparkle and Shine
In this exciting topic we will look at the difference between night and day, people who work at night and nocturnal animals. We will also be learning about the Solar System and characteristics of the different planets. We will write our own non fiction space books and learn about what it is like to be an astronaut. We will learn about Neil Armstrong, a significant person from History and why he was famous. It proves to be a very exciting topic.
We have really enjoyed this topic. We have been learning about night time routines and how important it is to clean our teeth before we go to sleep. We carried out a brilliant investigation to see which drinks are best for our teeth. We made predictions then looked at the effects of different drinks on the shells of a hard boiled egg. We found out that milk and water are best for our teeth but we should have fizzy coke and pure fruit juices less often, as a treat.
We looked at the night sky and different constellations, representing these in paint. We have particularly enjoyed learning about Space and the different planets. We have been learning about different astronauts and the lives they lead in space.
We looked at people who have to work through the night to help keep us safe and provide goods and services.
