During this topic the children have:
*Constructed their own model volcanoes and erupted them! (See photos).
*Researched the famous volcanic eruption of Pompeii in AD 79.
*Created volcanoes poems using alliteration, similes, metaphors and personification.
*Written their own disaster stories.
*Used the 'Sgraffito Technique' to draw volcano landscapes.
*developed their skills using atlases, locating volcanoes around the world.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the topic, especially when they had the opportunity to erupt their model volcaones!
