Welcome to our class page. Life in the Reception class at Goldenhill Academy is very busy, full of laughter, fun and lots of learning. We believe that each child should be given every opportunity to reach their potential and follow their interests. Our curriculum activities are very much led by the children and their ideas. They have every opportunity to explore and develop their skills and knowledge in a safe and stimulating environment. Our children enjoy working both indoors and outdoors, making potions in the mud kitchen, collecting minibeasts, digging holes and acting out many different adventures. They can develop their physical skills and control on the timber trail, walking on stilts or building obstacle courses with the planks and crates. Acting out stories is very important in the Reception class and there are many opportunities for role play and small world play. Our children learn by hands on, interactive activities which allow them to investigate and make discoveries for themselves and to extend their thinking.
